Matterhorn

3 months in Europe and we still can't get over how quickly the landscape changes in just a few hours.

After a weekend in Dijon (vine and canola territory) we set out for mountainous Switzerland- only a few hours drive through the picturesque Jura region.

The Swiss Franc is quite close to the Aussie, but things are a lot more expensive here, even compared to Scandinavia. 40€ to use the motorways for the two days we will be here, 4 bucks for a serve of Maccas pommes frites and almost 2 bucks a litre for diesel. Ouch.

Drove some very hairy roads to spot the Matterhorn- a craggy snow topped giant among neighboring mountains. Worth the trip out. On the way back we tried to save some time by putting the Pug on a rattly trolley that was dragged through a tunnel behind a passenger train for 15 minutes at over 100kph.

We saved a few hours driving but the experience has shaved a few days off of our lives!

Vines with a view on Lac Leman/ Matterhorn cuts the sky/ Even our new swiss friend had reservations about the train trolley
