After an overrated ball drop, we hit the streets today through central park and 5th avenue discovering... more shops.
Central park is beautiful, but the most amazing aspect is its approach. As you walk in, you can see sky through the skeletons of deciduous oaks but there is the instant reminder if you look left or right of the massive buildings of the city. Cutest thing- squirrels eating chestnuts.
5th avenue is full on, every designer in the world is there, and at saks 5th avenue every designer in the street is in the same store. All mensware 70 percent off for 2 days only- Trav scored a Hugo boss suit, sports coat and a ferragamo wallet. Rach will have her turn tomorrow!
Most interesting part though was the stores reaction to cutting my face on an errand pin in a zegna shirt- a little blood but no more than a scratch, she called for all staff to check for pins and wanted me to fill an incident report form so that my health costs are covered. Full on, very scared of being sued.
Having tea in a traditional diner- Rach had best cheese burger ever, Trav had a gf omelette with chips. Back to the hotel for a quiet night, still recovering from last night.
